Renaissance 2.0: Educating the New Leonardos

Generations Y and Z face a myriad of future career possibilities, in an age of desktop fabrication, robots, and nano-technology. In a fast changing digital age, how do we prepare them for jobs that haven't been invented yet? How do we support our future Designers, Knowledge Traders, Power Searchers and Webtop workers? How do we support their individual learning styles, nurture creativity and facilitate innovators?  How do we create effective knowledge flows across generations, countries and cultures?

'Renaissance 2.0' is a keynote speech given by Helen Baxter at Ulearn 2007 in Auckland, New Zealand. Click and drag to read the mindmap or view online at Mindmeister

Chelfyn rates Untangle, a free Open Source Network Gateway for spam blocking, web filtering, remote access and more. Helen's tool of the year so far is Flowgram for interactive audio presentations to embed into your site. Datapresser is one tool we won't be using for automated blog posting to Wordpress. We don't recommend gaming the search engine system like this as it devalues true original and human generated content. Plus website of the week is Profilactic which allows you to aggregate a Lifestream from over 190 social networking sites. Terrible name for an online service though!
